Step Down
Alternative name: Step Down Jump
Category: Jumping
Difficulty: Level 3 (of 4)
A Step Down (also called Step-down) is a jump ramp where the landing area is located lower than the take-off ramp. Just imagine a double where the landing is built quite a bit lower in sloping terrain than it would be on flat ground.
Unlike a drop, you don’t jump down, but first a bit up into the air. You ride this jump at speed.
And exactly this shows that you have a lot of airtime on the Step Down. A jump upwards and a landing that is much lower means that the flight curve is longer than with a normal Double or Table.
